Missions Report
MISSION SUNDAY: January 8th
THE MISSIONS ARE COMING! Sunday, January 8th our Church will look a little different. Tables will be set up in the narthex, sanctuary and alcove for the Church services as if we were having a covered dish dinner right after the 10:15 service. And we are!
This is Mission Sunday and eight local Missions and agencies will be joining us, giving you time to meet their representatives in person and learn more about them and their programs. Faith supports many of these good programs in some way and it is the perfect time for you to discover who, where and how your good work and donations are helping.
The missions will be in the narthex to meet those leaving the 8:00 a.m. service and to greet the Sunday School and 10:15 folks. They will join us for the late service and will have the opportunity to tell you about their programs and services during the potluck.
Please get ready to bring your best dish and to enjoy this special day.
An Opportunity For You
Volunteers are needed to help with Mission Sunday. There are several opportunities for you lend a helping hand - right at Faith United Methodist Church.
Ten crock pots of soup or stew will be needed, as well as, salads and desserts. Kitchen volunteers are needed and will accept and arrange the potluck food as it comes in, prepare the beverages, and oversee the potluck itself. Clean-up volunteers will be needed after the meal. The tables will remain up for the monthly Men's Club spaghetti supper fundraiser on Friday night (all are welcome).
Please mark the Let's Connect Card where you would like to volunteer as a kitchen worker, the clean-up crew, and/or food you would like to bring.
GRIEF SUPPORT
Due to the business of the Holidays the Grief Support program is being postponed until next year.
FAITH TRAVELS:"It's not about the suitcase, it's about the journey."
Sheila Rapavi will continue to support Faith Travels, but has handed it over to Lee Wetzel who has graciously agreed to chair this worthy project. Gently used roller suitcases, twin-size and smaller blankets, Bibles, children's clothes and toiletries are needed and can be dropped off next to the FUMC Cafe Connection, near the Circle of Hope and food bank donation boxes.
Missions Recognition
The ladies of Faith United Methodist Church have taken Salty Service to a new level with their continued projects, donations and generosity, enjoying time well spent with one another.
The Ruth Circle's dedication, donations and generosity make a difference in the lives of the homeless in our community.
The Circle of Hope is expanding and personally reaching out to others in Bradenton during their visits and through their hand crafted gifts. They know the meaning of Salty Service and make it happen. God bless them and those who benefit from their love.
The PrimeTimers team of ladies really did a wonderful job with the 'Kick of the Holidays, Thanksgiving Dinner.' Opening our doors and hearts to others is what salty service is all about and what better way to do this than break bread with the community.
