FAITH CONNECTION

THE RUTH CIRCLE
All Women are welcome!
Call Lynda (794.6925) today for more information!
Regular meetings are 10AM on the first Wednesday of the month.

Shirley Johnson (host) and Joan Henshaw (co-host) took excellent care of the ladies of the Ruth Circle during their November 2nd meeting. Such an array of beautiful china cups and saucers added just that special touch to a wonderful buffet of sweets, treats and edibles.
The circle reading was from 'Jesus Calling' by Sarah Young:
"This is a time in your life when you must learn to let go: of loved ones, of possessions, of control. In order to let go of something that is precious to you, you need to rest in My Presence, where you are complete. Take time to bask in the Light of My Love. As you relax more and more, your grasping hand gradually opens up, releasing your prized possession into My Care."
"You can feel secure, even in the midst of cataclysmic changes, through awareness of My continual Presence. The One who never leaves you is the One who never changes; I Am the same yesterday, today and forever. As you release more and more things into My care, remember that I never let go of your hand. Herein lies your security, which no one and no circumstance can take from you."
Psalm 89:15 Hebrews 13:8 Isaiah 41:13
The Ruth Circle pulled together and came through once again serving the community and those in need. The One Stop Coalition for the Homeless received 300 pairs of socks, 30 towels and washcloths, 25 pairs of men's underwear, several bags of clothes and hats, plus bags and bags of toiletries (tooth paste, tooth brushes, plastic disposable razors, shaving cream, soap, shampoo, cream rinse, deodorant, lotion, combs, etc.). When it comes to Salty Services - these ladies really clean up!
Toy Shelton shared her appreciation for the love she received after the death of her grandson. Unfortunately, Toy's health has faltered again and is scheduled to move to Surrey Place (5525 21 Ave W, Bradenton FL 34209 Telephone: 794-3635). Please pay her a visit or two or three and be sure to send plenty of uplifting cards. She needs her sisters now more than ever.
Juanine Lowery expressed her appreciation for the floral arrangement and card. She is still under the weather - your calls, cards and visits can brighten her day and make a difference.
Much love and many prayers go to Ruth Circle Chair, Lynda Bellows and her family. The unexpected and tragic loss of her beloved granddaughter, Lindsay, leaves us at a loss for words. Great granddaughter, Brooke, lost both her mother (Lindsay) and her father on Thanksgiving evening and needs our prayers, too. Let it be known that the Ruth Circle is here with open hearts and arms if there is anything we can do to support them in their time of grief.
December's Salty Service Project: Mama Mia's Love Train was voted December's Salty Service Project. Children shouldn't be punished for the actions of their parents, thus this is a loving way to share God's love. Everyone is encouraged to bring unwrapped gifts for children to Faith United Methodist Church by December 4th. Reverend Jean Russo said the suggested price per gift is $8 or less.
